The 0-16 Childhood Fund has an overall budget of 14.5 million euros, although the final figure can be extended according to the number of applicants that meet the requisites. The subsidy was awarded to a total of 13,748 families and 23,284 minors last year, with over 14 million euros used.

The amount of the subsidy is 600 euros for applicant families responsible for one minor; 1,050 euros for two minors; 1,350 euros for three minors and, from the fourth onwards, 300 euros per additional child. Single-parent families will receive an extra amount of 600 euros. For families with shared custody, each progenitor can receive 50% of the amount awarded.

The four requisites that applicant families must meet are:

  • To be users of Social Service and have received attention in 2024.
  • To be responsible for minors born on or after 1 January 2009.
  • To be officially registered as residing in the city of Barcelona as of 1 January 2024 and effectively live there at least until the last day of the application period.
  • Not to exceed the required level of income for receiving the benefit.

The economic parameters for accessing the benefit have been increased this year and the time allowed for an interruption to being on the official register of residents has been extended to six months.

Those receiving 0-16 Fund subsidies will receive them through the Barcelona Solidària Card. Payments will be made between 2025 and 2026 and the calendar for payments will be published on the Childhood Fund website.
